What is an MCU?
A Material Change of Use, its a requirement by some councils that an application needs to be lodged to change the use of the land upon which you propose to place a dwelling, in some instances its when multiple properties are placed on land, or when changes to boundary limitations are required. An MCU application where applicable must be lodged and approved prior to building approval being granted.

What you need from your Plumber! Your plumber will need to receive from you a floor plan of the home you intend to place on your land, also such things as aspect direction of your home, water supply points, EG: town water meter, the position of tanks and sewage connection if its town sewage versus HSTP. Your plumber will then be able to give you an estimate to connect your new home to the respective services and supply you with a drainage plan along with a FORM 7 which must be submitted to council with your building application.
