Halley Homes
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can we make design changes to suit
our needs?
Q: Are the homes built strong and cyclone rated?
A: Yes! We can accommodate most changes, as
long as they fit within the limits of transportation
i.e. a home section (module) cannot exceed 18
metres in length or 4.2 metres in width.
A: Yes! Halley Homes are constructed from the
highest quality materials and meet Australian
Building Standards’ cyclone rating W41N or
N3 STD
Q: Does splitting the house for transportation
weaken it?
Q: I have not built a home before. Do I have to
deal with council?
A: No. Transportable homes are built differently
than homes constructed on site. Our homes
can withstand travelling thousands of kilometres
because we build on a solid Duragal steel base
and brace all external walls before cladding is
attached. This gives the walls the strength to
cope with the rigours of moving.
A: No. You have complete peace of mind with your
Halley Homes purchase. We handle all council
applications, soil testing and any other regulatory
issues under most circumstances.
Q: What work will I need to do when I get my new
home on site?
Q: What if something needs repairing or doesn’t
work with our new home?
A: We hand over your home when it’s completed to
the contract specification you signed with us. You
only need to have your plumber and electrician
connect services.
A: We provide all the applicable warranties relating
to every aspect of your new home. Plus you have
the confidence of knowing we have a full time
Client Services Manager who will help you with
any queries.
